The City of Angels has found a way to collect more unpaid parking citations, while, at the same time, making life a little easier for people.  LADOT previously towed all scofflaw vehicles requiring motorists to spend hours and sometimes days trying to pay and reclaim the use of their cars.  Self-release booting also makes this process easier for the city and its employees when it comes to collecting unpaid tickets.

With this technology, motorists can pay for their tickets right over the phone and self-release the boot all within 5-10 minutes. This method is simpler, faster, and more cost-effective for everyone. The City of Los Angeles is joining up with some of the biggest cities in the U.S. by implementing the SmartBoot.

These are just some of the many benefits Los Angeles will receive by switching to this new approach.

“LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The bad news is you’ve got a parking boot on your car. The good news? You can take it off yourself.”
