LADOT is working to make parking smarter and easier. A one-year “SmartBooting” pilot program was launched to replace the old practice of towing cars. The “SmartBoot”, built by PayLock, features an electromagnetic keypad that allows motorists to self-release the boot and be on their way. PayLock also runs a 24/7 help center for people to call for payment assistance.
